Didn’t make a mess or rub off. This was 1 application, exactly 10 minutes. Wetted hair first. I like I still have some salt pepper. My hair over last 5 years got really white. Too white. Like salt pepper, but didn’t want santa claus. Lol. I didn’t think it would work, but it did.
Definitely covered what was a very grey with white hair and brought back realistic color. Not as dark as I thought it would be for black. Maybe it's the best it could do for hair so white as mine was getting.

I’ve never ever colored my hair, ever!! Read a lot of reviews of different products and saw that this seemed to be the least complicated and invasive. Lots of good reviews about the do’s and don’ts helped me. Basically, wash this stuff in like your regular shampoo. Then do all your other washing and shaving, then wash out. You only need about 2 quarters worth and let it sit. The one it out thoroughly without shaking your head, as you could get the die on the shower tiles or other things. When you go to comb your hair, you will say, what?!!! Literally made my gray virtually disappear, restored my hair color, and nothing messy or smelly. Definitely buying again.
In the past, I've used other hair dye products and have to leave it in for a long time before rinsing...sometimes the results are not completely satisfactory. I always had to use gloves and be careful not to get it on my hands and not dye my scalp or face. Plus, this was getting costly.
With this hair dye shampoo, I apply it to my dry hair just stepping into the shower, leave it in for a few minutes and rinse off. You can see results after the first application...in my case, I used it three times to get to the color level I wanted and my hair looks great and naturally colored. I have naturally brown hair and I’ve been graying quickly. When your hair is this darker even a few grays are super noticeable. The cost of regular professional coloring is something I want to avoid as long as possible. I was skeptical, but oh my gosh this stuff

Way better than using dye. Leave in for a good 5-10 minutes. I shampoo immediately and leave in while cleaning the rest of my body. Then I use some the root activator conditioner or something that smells good so my hair doesn’t smell like the hair dye. I highly recommend my system.
So, the instructions could be better.
For best results, apply to dry hair like you would normal hair dye. Do not apply to wet hair in the shower. For me, I apply thoroughly prior to shaving and then hop in the shower after my shave to wash/lather it out. If you do this, results will intensify MASSIVELY. Hope this helps anyone trying that hasn't been pleased with their results.
The dye shampoo works fantastic. It takes away the grey and changes the color so it appears naturally. Works great on my beard too. Only one problem. There’s a strong chemical smell and a little stinging sensation especially if you have any open blemishes or open hair follicles. Otherwise I’m completely satisfied.
This product is similar to the soap I’ve used previously, though it takes some time to restore full hair color. Unfortunately, I’m disappointed with the packaging and formula quality: the bottle I received arrived with a crack at the bottom, causing it to leak, and the mixture inside is inconsistent, with the clear and dark gels failing to blend properly.
Gets rid of gray hair. You have to make sure that you have a dark brown substance coming out. It mixes both dye and activator. And there is a little plug you have to remove. Not any directions. I had to pump it at least 5 time to get it to work. After that it worked fine.
Great way to dye your hair very quick without damaging your scalp and making it look sooo natural. This is my second order of 3 pots. Very happy I found this!

Love the way this works. I only left it on about 5 minutes and got great coverage. It's a nice, dark ashy tone which I really like. The color is holding up well after 2 weeks. The only thing I don't like is that after using it, the bottle leaks and leaves a stain around the bottom of the bottle. Luckily I caught it in time before it permanently stained my counter. After using it a second time, I rinsed off the bottle and nozzle and set it on some paper towels. It still leaked and totally soaked and stained the paper towels. Be careful.
I’ve used men’s hair dye and left it on longer than I was supposed to and when I washed my hair, the sides were still gray. But Spartan, man, this shampoo is incredible. I used it once, followed the time, when I washed it out, no gray was visible. In fact, my hair color was what it used to be Auburn. This shampoo is the best! After just one application. Crazy, right?

Both the hair dye and root activator shampoo work really well. I am most surprised by the root shampoo. When used as directed, it REALLY does regrow your hair without horrible side effects! I started using the shampoo and conditioner near mid January of 2025. In April of 2025, I have noticed a ton of regrowth whereas my hair had completely stopped growing years ago. I still have a slight bald spot that's nearly faded away. I have faith that my hair regrowth will continue. I am very happy with all of my Spartan products!
